it may be that my dual p4 is tainting an objective impression but performance in both the track management and UI seem to have *radically* improved. i'm dumping huge numbers of tracks, bashing away at the UI with all i've got and so far no segfaults. i mastered my last release, an experimental record, in Ardour six months ago and we sure had our bad days.

the 0.9bate2-3 is fscken quick, and undoubtedly compares to PT and Cool Edit which have been my performance benchmarks [albeit on a broken OS].

odd to think that playing with ardour today inspires me to make another one!

congrats ppl!
