0.9beta2-3 seems like the Debian package. That versions is build _without_ 
--enable-optimize. Current versions 0.9beta2-4 upwards are optimized (on i386).

BTW: Anyone tried ardour on ppc or other architectures yet? Debian packages 
are ready.

I'll post the patch for atomic.h and cycles.h as soon as I know that it works.
