I have more info on this crash problem, more problems, and a partial
solution.

This seems to have been the culprit. I edited my ardour.rc file and
found the Zoom line. I changed the zoom factor from 1 to 8, and then
ardour was able to start just like always. However, some weird things
have happened:

1) Recording a track causes playback only through one output channel.
Routing parameters had stereo working before the crash, no routing has
changed. I've tried re-setting the routes, no luck. As soon as I arm a
track to record, output gets cut down to one channel.

2) Latency is suddenly a big problem. Previous to this, my CPU usage
would hover around 18% (This is an AMD Tbird 900MHz), and I never once
had ardour quit recording because of an xrun. Now CPU usage hovers
around 25% and I seem to randomly incur xruns of about 64-75 ms, which
is enough to cause ardour to stop.

3) I can no longer monitor a track I've armed for recording. I don't
actually know if this was possible before, but I seem to recall one of
my bandmates listening to their own cues when overdubbing once.

I've been too busy this weekend playing and recording to try and
reproduce the zoom crashes, but if I get around to it, would you like me
to try?

Thanks,
Ross
