I don't have any problem with my own development projects being unable to link the STL automatically, so this is another mystery. I probably sound like a complete moron who has no clue what he's doing ... but I have never run into any problems before with building quite complex programs on this system. The usual "./configure, make, make install" mantra has always worked just fine. All my own development has worked fine. Something in the ardour build process seems to be looking in the wrong place for some things, though.
