i'm just starting to use muse+rosegarden (again), now that i have a
planet-enabled system which makes such tests easy, easy, easy. i'm
recording some stuff for which MIDI makes more sense as the first
pass (i.e. i need to correct my fumbling fingers in the time, rather
than the audio, domain :)

i hope i'm right in my "gamble" that its wiser to tackle audio before
MIDI, because it is so much more demanding in terms of RTness and data
flow. that's a premise i've always used internally to justify not
tackling MIDI along the way to 1.0

both these two programs look pretty nice, and work rather well for
MIDI work. i can't wait to port to GTK+2 (anti-aliased text, which is
all over my system now, will make ardour look *much* nicer), and i
can't wait to do MIDI (hopefully reusing lots of MidiMountain's custom
GTK work).
