Hmmm...where is 'libpanel.so'?  I've included my `ldconfig -p | grep
libpanel' output below.  Looks like you are missing ncurses-devel.

from `ldconfig -p | grep libpanel':
  libpanel.so.5 (libc6) => /usr/lib/libpanel.so.5
  libpanel.so (libc6) => /usr/lib/libpanel.so
