Um... *cough* *cough*... Well, the problem was that I couldn't create new projects in Ardour. I was running as root, and had uninstalled/reinstalled/purged-configs multiple times to no avail. Then, when attempting to install Debian alongside RedHat, I formatted and overwrote the wrong partition. ... So... I reinstalled RedHat 9.0 with the Planet CCRMA packages, and everything seems to be fine now. I haven't tried fooling around with templates again, but I can try to recreate the bug if so desired. On a side note, the reason why I was interested in templates to start with was so that I could save my connection settings (out 1 = alsa_pcm_out_1 & alsa_pcm_out_2, etc... ), but this doesn't seem to work even for regular projects. I.E., if I use the connections window to make Out 1 use two ports, then set all my tracks to send to Out 1, upon saving and reloading, ardour will complain that my setup is invalid and all the tracks will be sending to only one port (and my meticulous panning goes bye-bye...). I'm writing this from work (somehow I'm not yet fired), so I can't get more specific right now, but I would be glad to more thoroughly investigate and report this activity if the elders think it merits such attention. Peace, =Pete -- You can only run configure at the top level of the Ardour source tree. You don't want to know why this is true. Don't try to work around it. ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
