And the intallation manager should tell you before you do the install as well. When I looked (shortly after the beta2 announcement) the only RPMs I could find were pretty old. Certainly not for beta2, which is what I wanted to try. There didn't seem much point in installing a non-release RPM of anything other than the latest code, since presumably most of the annoyances/bugs would have been fixed between the time the RPM was made and beta2 came out; bug reports on old code typically aren't worth much. And, as I have mentioned here before, I haven't had a whole lot of luck with RPMs. They do tend to want install entire complete new subsystems (such as the latest version of KDE) when all I want to do is install some simple program. I once wanted to install some trivial innocuous program, and RPM wanted to force me to upgrade my name daemon. That was when I decided there was something seriously amiss with RPMs :-) Doc -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: PGP 6.0.2 -- QDPGP 2.60 Comment: Key obtainable from servers: ID 0x362912B8 iQA/AwUBPzQRumnXrLw2KRK4EQI06QCfXEkfgouXwK6VvvCxceSHHuqU+xEAnjMJ DcaJymbJlEK04GIWSyiZ0vtM =zQ+3 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email sponsored by: Free pre-built ASP.NET sites including Data Reports, E-commerce, Portals, and Forums are available now.
