I like this idea in a general sense, but I think it still doesn't confront a few issues about doing this sort of operation: 1) It doesn't deal with the plug in issues. If you and I want to go back and forth between bounced and original, there will be a lot of things to do by hand, and then many chances to get things wrong I think. 2) I'm unclear when it's OK to do this, and what's actually getting included in the bounce. Pre-fader plugins? Post-fader plugins? What happens to sends? (Probably nothing, so no a pre-fader, pre-plugin send sends something different because the recorded data reverb and it used to be dry. What if a track had an insert? What if this track is somehow linked into external processing. I'm not meaning to be negative about this. I just think there are many ways this operation could fool people. I get fooled a lot, so I know I'm going to be one of them! ;-) My expectation, for the short term anyway, is that I will not use this feature, and would opt for just recording it to a new track. If this feature was somehow modified to create a New Audio Track, then that would excite me considerably more. Again, just discussing. Not intending to be negative in any way.
