Subject: [ardour-dev] OT - Porting Ardour

Before I start, please do not flame me etc. I don't want to get involved
in any arguments whatsoever so please please don't.

I have been interested in porting Ardour over to the BeOS for some time
now (yes I know its a bit late!), and am requesting a little help off of
one of yourseleves if possible. Since I am not a programmer by trade
(I'm an electronic designer) I would like a little help working out what
each of the source files do, since it is a large(ish) scale design.
Would someone be able to mail me offlist with a short description of
the directory structure, and underlying files. My thoughts are to use
the Ardour program without Jack, and use the BeOS media server instead.
There is a port of Gtk 1.2 for BeOS, but if this is unsuitable I *may*
use the BeOS GUI instead and just rely on the internals.

As I said before, I don't want to get involved in arguments - I have my
own personal reasons why I want to try to do this. I am very impressed
with Ardour and have used it at a friends and now at home, and I am not
against Linux in any way, having run it for many years (previously
Debian, but Gentoo now - highly recomended).

Please reply off list.

Andy.
