OK I guess I have cleaned all the cowebs.
To get an M-Audio USB Quattro working cleanly with JACK, an intel i850
MOBO and an NVidia geforce2.
I had to set a few things.
- BIOS: AGP = 32 MB RAM cache
- Using AGPART (kernel agp driver not NvAgp)
Put this in /etc/XF86Config
Option "NvAgp" "2" # use AGPGART (0=noagp, 1=NvAgp, 2= AGPART)
- Set the bandwidth use from 4x to 2x
Put this in /etc/modules.conf
alias char-major-195 NVdriver
options NVdriver NVreg_ReqAGPRate=0x2
Reboot.
Now Everything seems to be pretty stable. However I imagine that my
dvd's aren't going to look quite so nice now.

Being on stage with the band in front of crowds shouting, "Get off! No!
We want normal music!", I think that was more like acting than anything
I've ever done.
