Subject: [Ardour-users] timestretch question

Greetings:

I'm working with yesterday's (Feb 19) CVS Ardour. Things have
certainly progressed since the last time I built it, and I'm having fun
testing the new stuff.

I'd like to play around with the timestretching but I'm receiving the
following error when I try it:

[ERROR]: tempoize: error creating new audio file
/usr/local/dump/tape1/tracks-02.ardour//sounds//bunting.wav-0-TIMEFX-0.wav
(No such file or directory)

Bunting.wav is the original soundfile, but indeed
bunting.wav-0-TIMEFX-0.wav does not exist before, during, or after the
operation. Am I missing something ? Can someone hip me to how it's
actually done ?

Btw, I'm impressed with how far Ardour has evolved WRT its immediate
usability. The Audio Track/Audio Bus distinction is very nice, and it
was a straightforward matter to record & playback simple mono tracks. I
crashed it a couple of times, and I'll make out a more serious report
after spending some more time with it, but wow, is Ardour sweet or what
?! I recorded a 5'30" 2-track file last night then had fun applying
reatime LADSPA effects just as smooth as silk. No dropouts, hiccups, or
xruns. This on an 800 MHz machine, under kernel 2.4.18 (low-latency, of
course), with JACK 0.41 and ALSA 0.9.0rc6 for an SBLive Value. Nice...

Now on to write that drum track for the new song...

Best regards,

== Dave Phillips
