Subject: [Ardour-users] rc files where do I put them?

Hi

After all the working through all the dependency stuff.. I have
successfully built Ardour.. ( I had an earlier version when I was
running Mandrake 9.0 but that was from RPM install.. I never actually
got it going properly for numerous unrelated reasons )

At first it wouldn't start..even after editing ardour.rc, which I placed
in my home directory. I changed it's name to .ardourrc and now ardour
fires up.....

But it looks really weird (relative to the screenshots online). The GUI
also behaves strangely; when clicking in a text box it gives that look
like you have an incompatible screen refresh happening, but just in the
text box, another example is in the options editor screen

I am assuming this has got to do with the location and/or naming
ardour_ui.rc file.

Where should I be placing these files so they work on a system level,
and what should they be named?

I'll probably be asking quite a few questions in the next couple of days
regarding configuring ardour.. If it is of any use I am happy to keep
notes and submit them for the construction of some kind of user
guide/manual

cheers

Allan
