Convolution is an algorithm. When you convolve a signal you need a special 
signal to apply with the algorithm. This signal, the impulse response, is 
more or less a sampling of how a room "sounds".
There are several engines that implement it one way or the other, including 
Steve's plugin and BruteFIR. As I understand things though BruteFIR is in  
another division, feature wise.
