That's odd. I also built from cvs (last night) and I can confirm
the opposite :-)

$ ls ~/.ardour | grep sfdb
(no result)
$ ardour
(snip)
Ardour is done. Come again. Have a nice day. Etc.
$ ls ~/.ardour | grep sfdb
sfdb
