This where you can record several takes on one track and then chose which one is actually used. This is really useful if you are doing several takes on a vocal track or a guitar solo and then can chose which one was the best. I am wondering if there is a way to easily do something like this with ardour. Here are my current solutions: (1) Make a new track for each take. This works but creates a lot of clutter. (2) Record the take then delete it. When you want to put a former take back on do an "Insert region". This is REALLY cumbersome because I have to keep a piece of paper by my desk to record which region number is which and then use either an ardour marker or the paper for the region start. If there is no easy way to do this then I would like register a feature request. If anyone has any implementation suggestions (since I haven't studied the source) please let me know and I'll take a stab at implementing it.
