Hi Jesse,

Thanks for the quick response.

The Focus CommandPost looks close to perfect as well (though I hate to
hear it has a poor jog/shuttle...I'm a bit rough on the jog/shuttle from
years of working in television, as those Sony VTRs were built like
tanks...but I have managed to use the wimpy shuttle on the DVD player
for over a year with no significant damage). I'm stunned by how cheap
it can be had for, though. At least one place (softwareandstuff.com)
has it for $9.99!

Anyway, I've ordered up one for myself just now (at $10 measly bucks
plus shipping, I don't have to wait to save up more mad-money...I
scraped it together out of the change in the drawers of my desk). I'll
do what I can to assist with getting it talking to Ardour when it
arrives. A search reveals that a suitable kernel driver exists for
these types of devices, but that the events need to be accepted and
dealt with. Looks promising. The thread is here:

Now if only I can track down a local supplier of rigid fiberglass for
bass traps here in my tiny little 'studio', things will be coming
together very nicely. I love playing with all of this audio junk again...
