I absolutely *HATE* (with a passion) winblows and refuse to pay a billion dollar markup for a MAC. So here I am. I need to record in linux using my Echoaudio Mia 24 sound card. I have d/led and installed the alsa stuff for the card and i know it works. I ahve also d/led and installed the jack audio stuff and have d/led the latest beta 3 ardour. The problem is that I get this message on ./configure: checking for pkg-config... /usr/bin/pkg-config checking for sndfile >= 1.0.0... Package sndfile was not found in the pkg-config search path. Perhaps you should add the directory containing `sndfile.pc' to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable No package 'sndfile' found configure: error: Library requirements (sndfile >= 1.0.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. configure: error: /bin/sh './configure' failed for soundtouch configure: error: /bin/sh './configure' failed for libs As I'm no Linux guru, I need some help getting past this and working with Ardour! Thanks for your time and help in this matter! 0 Jim [ .. hiphop/urban/electronic/r&b music producer .. ] ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Ardour-users mailing list Ardour-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/ardour-users
