Subject: [Ardour-users] wrong colors in ardour gui (with SuSE 8.2)
Date: Wed, 10 Sep 2003 01:39:56 +0200
Hello,
I found some colors of the ardour gui very "unsatisfying" when I first tried
it. The menu and some dialogwindows are nearly unreadable. Then I scanned
the mailinglists and found someone having the same problem -- but no
answer. So I started investigation.
The problem is with a standard gtkrc-file that is configured when KDE runs
with the keramik style. Then the geramik style for gtk is written into an
environment and the settings for this are no good companions for the ardour
one. There are two (probably three) solutions for this problem:
1. disable the use of geramik globally (either by deinstalling it or) by
creating the file ~/.no-qtrc-to-gtkrc-mapping
2. disable the use of geramik only for ardour by the following commandline
GTK_RC_FILES= ardour
3. change the ardour_ui.rc so that it always uses the default style and
doesn't inherit any settings from foreign style files.
I hope this will be usefull for anyone.
