Subject: [Ardour-users] Ardour dies when loading/creating sessions

Hi there.

It feels a bit churlish to whinge given the amount of great work that's
obviously been done, but I'm having trouble with Ardour.

I installed ardour, jack etc using thac's rpms for Mandrake 9.1 and it seemed
to work OK for a bit, but then I installed jackit-realtime and hit a problem.
I also probably did some other stuff so I can't be 100% sure the problem's
caused by jackit-realtime.

Ardour now crashes every time I try to load or create a session. Here's what
happens:

[root@olaf joe]# ardour
** Found .ardour.rc

Ardour/GTK 0.377.1 running with libardour 0.685.0
Loading UI configuration file /etc/ardour/ardour_ui.rc
Loading system configuration file /etc/ardour/ardour_system.rc
Loading user configuration file /root/.ardour/ardour.rc
Loading session /home/joe/test using snapshot test
jack_set_transport_info() no longer supported.
/usr/bin/ardourx: relocation error: /usr/bin/ardourx: undefined symbol:
_ZN6ARDOUR7Session10smpte_timeEjRNS_10SMPTE_TimeE

Any clues as to how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. I guess it's
trying to use the wrong version of something or other, but I can't tell what.

While I'm whining, the other (lesser) irritation is the colour scheme. White
text on light-grey buttons isn't the most readable combination.

Cheers,

Joe
