I did start writing some code to calcute the frequency response of
parametric filters a few weeks back, but lost interest :)

It might be nice to make the band-peak control in the HDEQ behave a bit
more like parametric filters (I think the sharpness in the skirts is
emphasising the resonant filter-ish sound you gety if you use deep cuts or
boosts), but it would change the sound of peoples existing .jamin files.  

A real parametric EQ's bands have an boost/cut that fades away to 0 over
an infinite pitch range, and I suspect this makes them sound more subtle.
