2.3.44 + Uniprocessor APIC = panic

    I just compiled 2.3.44 (i686 ASUS P2B) and got the following panic:

    ENABLING IO-APIC IRQs
    ...changing IO-APIC physical APIC ID to 2 ...<0>Kernel panic
            APIC ID 2 already used
    In idle task - not syncing

    I removed uniprocessor APIC support and I was able to get to userland fine.
