If you compile ide driver as module, drivers/block/ide-geometry.c
does not contain anything because CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE is not defined
(instead of that, CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_MODULE is). As a result,
probe_cmos_for_drives is unresolved in ide-probe-mod.o.
