Kernel 2.2.15-pre9 on a dual processor BP6. HPT366 controller, latest
BIOS, UDMA drives on the second IDE controller (hde, hdf). CDROM on the
    primary (hda).

When the kernel is built for SMP it comes up with "ide2: Disabled unable
to get IRQ -11". No root fs.

The same kernel works fine when built for UP. 2.3.99 works OK both UP
    and SMP.

    Under 2.2.15-UP /proc/interrupts says:

               CPU0
      0: 10611 XT-PIC timer
      1: 68 XT-PIC keyboard
      2: 0 XT-PIC cascade
     10: 85 XT-PIC eth0
     11: 14291 XT-PIC ide2
     12: 0 XT-PIC PS/2 Mouse
     13: 1 XT-PIC fpu
     14: 7 XT-PIC ide0
    NMI: 0

    Under 2.3.99-pre4-SMP, /proc/interrupts says:

               CPU0 CPU1
      0: 1833 1651 IO-APIC-edge timer
      1: 2 3 IO-APIC-edge keyboard
      2: 0 0 XT-PIC cascade
     12: 0 0 IO-APIC-edge PS/2 Mouse
     13: 1 0 XT-PIC fpu
     14: 7 0 IO-APIC-edge ide0
     18: 841 857 IO-APIC-level ide2
     19: 37 39 IO-APIC-level eth0
    NMI: 3386 3386
    LOC: 3396 3395
    ERR: 0

I can provide more details, try patches or run additional test cases on
    request.
