    Hi,

    I seem to be unable to find documentation on how to set the tuner type
    for my bttv or tuner drivers when the BT8xx-driver is statically linked
    against the kernel.

    Setting options in conf.modules when bttv and tuner are modules is
    fine, though with linked bttv/tuner, the tuner is not working, its type
    sticks with "-1" (unset).

    Hauppauge(new) WinTV pci here (Bt878+TDA6300+MSP3410D-B4 (NICAM))

    I get these during boot:
    i2c: initialized
    Linux video capture interface: v1.00
    bttv0: Brooktree Bt878 (rev 2) bus: 0, devfn: 72, irq: 12, memory:
    0xe1003000.
    bttv: 1 Bt8xx card(s) found.
    bttv0: fader chip: TEA6300
    bttv0: model: BT878(Hauppauge new)
    msp3400: daemon started
    msp3400: init: chip=MSP3410D-B4, has NICAM support

    and this upon starting xawtv:

    bttv0: PLL: 28636363 => 35468950 ... ok
    tuner: tuner type not set

    I have this /proc/cmdline:

    mem=131008K root=/dev/hda7 ide0=dma ide0=autotune \
    sym53c8xx=tags:32,debug:0x200,specf:1 tuner=type=5 \
    bttv=card=10,type=5,tuner=5

    Looking at the bttv/tuner source, this does not even remotely seem
    correct, IF at all bttv and tuner parse LILO options.

    Any pointers, please?
