sgi kdb problems w/2.3.99p5

Hi
I am having trouble getting the SGI kdb working with kernel 2.3.99p5.
I am usinf the 2.3.48 patch. I have traced it to
entry.S
    function ENTRY(page_fault)
     instruction rdmsr

I get a GPF 0000

does any one have a patch for this patch??
