                    - need to prevent reallocation

            2) wait status (i.e. exit status, core flag, etc.)
                    - needed for wait/waitpid/waitid/wait{3|4} etc.

            possibly
            3) resource consumption (if timeu and times aren't
                                     folded into parent at exit())
