    blowme:~# cat /proc/version
    Linux version 2.3.99-pre7 (root@blowme) (gcc version egcs-2.92.11 19980921 (gcc2 ss-980609 experimental)) #1 Thu May 4 23:46:53 EDT 2000

(this includes all of the same patches that jakub has in the RH version,
    AFAIK)

dpkg isn't compiled 64bit yet, but I do have lots of other small programs
running in 64bit (shared libs). I don't think any were running at the
time, but of course that doesn't exclude corruption.
