2.2.15 is extremely uninteractive with high IDE I/O

    Wow, shells locked up hard for 10s of seconds under heavy IDE I/O
    (writing). I may go back and see if earlier kernels were better in this
    regard. At least I was writing 25+MB/s on average to a single UDMA
    drive (Maxtor). This was with Andre Hedrick's latest IDE patches.

    Anyone have patches against 2.2.15 to improve the situation?
