errors : there's no kernel 2.7
core dumped

Anyway, I assume you are talking about the 2.3.99-pre6-pre2 and you
want upgrade it to 2.3.99-pre7. If this is case then back out
the pre7-2 patch (patch -R) and apply the patch-2.3.99-pre7

(alpha patches are against previous beta kernel, and not latest alpha)
(beta patches are against previous beta kernel)
