With all 2.2.x kernels prior to 2.2.14 I've had problems with spin_lock
deadlock on Sun SS-10's and SS-20's equipped with Ross RTK-625 quad hypersparc
    CPU's (90mhz and 100mhz).

With 2.2.15, this particular problem seems to be fixed, but unfortunately,
it seems to have been replaced by new problems. I've had machines hard-hang
with no error messages on the console and unresponsive to L1-A (had to power
cycle). I've had machines OOPS in the swapper.

And now this morning I had a web server on an SS-10 go into a state where
it quit serving web pages (Apache 1.3.3p3) and ssh sessions I had up became
    unresponsive.

I attempted to login at the console. I could switch virtual terminals and
get a login prompt but after I typed a login, it would not give a password
prompt. Yet the machine wasn't frozen, I could continue to switch virtual
    consoles.

But I could not login, nor was it responsive to control-alt-delete, but it
    was responsive to L1-A.

I'm glad the spin_lock deadlock appears to be fixed, but I wish it hadn't
been replaced with all these new problems.
