No, 2.3.99-pre7 isn't stable. It was barely tolerable on my 64meg system
with alot of swap. 2.3.99pre7's VM system is horribly flakey, but the VM
issues have largely been resolved in 2.4.0test1ac4. The kernel is much
speedier and more responsive with all the VM rebalancing and fixing done
by many bright people.
