    We are pleased to announce the release of the SGI Pro64(TM) compiler
    for the Intel Itanium processor to the open source community. Please see

                      http://oss.sgi.com/projects/Pro64/

    for more information and a description of the current feature set. The
    Pro64 compiler supports C, C++ and Fortran90 and includes a wide
    variety of ILP enhancing optimizations that take full advantage of the
    Itanium processor.

    The web-site also contains instructions on how to add oneself to the
    email lists for future announcements about the compiler, for compiler
    support issues, and for contributing to the compiler source. Please
    join these lists if you are interested.
