    Both 2.95.2 and egcs 1.* miscompile some setups on x86 with Linux 2.4.0test
    (strstr stuff notable). A couple of drivers dont seem to work with 2.95 (driver
    bugs)

    its nothing to do with ansi compliance. gcc 2.95 is a bit more flexible about
    some gnu extensions. The fact 2.7.2 doesnt work with test2 is just a bug, its
    one of those you never catch until someone using 2.7.2 builds the tree, then
    you hear loudly about it 8)
