    Hi all

My Linux router is connected to a traffic generator whic does not
continuesly respond to ARPs from the linux router. The traffic generator
only pumps large amounts of data at a continus rate. The generator only
arps before and after the test is done, during the test the generator
    doesnot respond to ARPs.

The Linux router performs ok till about 10-11 seconds and then fails very
badly. After about 11 seconds the router shows almost 100% loss because it
does not receive a reply to its arps from the traffic generator.

Is there any way in which I can increase the ARP timer, or disable ARP
cache flushing after arp timeout. I read a message on the list that the
arp timer can be changed by inputting values in to the
/proc/sys/net/ipv4/arp_timeout file. But this file does not exist on my
system. I'm running Redhat 6.2 with Kernel 2.2.13. Can someone suggest
another way of gettin around the problem, even if it means diggin through
    the code.

    Any help would be appretiated.
    Thanks in advance...
    Kiran
