    I'm not subscribed to the list, but got a crash this morning with the
    brand new 2.4.0-pre8. Hope it helps.

    [2.] Full description of the problem/report:

    First, I typed 'sync' (remotely), which dumped core. I typed it a second
    time to see whether it could be reproduced, but the machine already crashed.
